How much does college cost? The cost of a four year college can range anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000 per year4. A union apprenticeship costs nothing except the tools you need and your time.
The starting pay for union apprentices is also almost double minimum wage4, and increases every six months as you advance through the program.
If you aren't sure college is for you, or if you want to go to college and study mechanical engineering or other trade-related areas, consider the Sheet Metal Workers' Union Apprenticeship Program. |
 |
However, joining the Union Apprenticeship Program does not mean that you can't go to college. In fact, through a partnership with CNM, Central New Mexico Community College, you will have earned the technical and mathematical credit hours towards an associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or mathematics.
