Officers and staff

	Business Manager / Financial Secretary Treasurer Raymond Diaz Raymond started his apprenticeship with Local 49 in 1983. He transferred his membership to Local Union 68, Dallas, Texas, where he completed the apprenticeship program in 1988. Raymond worked in the Dallas area for several years until 1992. He then transferred back to Local 49, and was elected to the E-board in 1995. He served through 1998. Raymond was appointed as full time Local Union Organizer for the Southern New Mexico and El Paso area. He was elected Vice President in 2000 and reelected in 2001. Ray was elected to the position of Business Manager / Financial Secretary Treasurer effective October 1, 2005 and re-elected in June 2007

	Training Coordinator / President Jerry Arms Jerry completed the apprenticeship program in 1989. He was elected to the E-Board in 1998 and elected as Trustee in 2001. Jerry was elected as Trustee by acclamation in June of 2004. Jerry has also been our full time Apprenticeship Coordinator since 1999. Jerry was elected President of Local Union 49 October 1, 2005 and re-elected in June 2007
	Vice-President/Local Organizer Abel Billy Martinez Billy completed his apprenticeship with Local 432 in 1974. Billy was appointed organizer for the Lubbock and Amarillo area in August of 1998 and still serves in that position. In addition to organizing, he is the Training Director for the Lubbock / Amarillo Apprentice School. Billy is the President of the Lubbock Central Labor Council and a member of the Retiree's Assistance Committee. In September of 2003, Billy was appointed Vice-President and elected by acclamation into the position in 2004 and re-elected in June 2007
	Trustee / Local Organizer Vince Alvarado Vince began his career in sheet metal in 1980. He served his Local 49 apprenticeship in El Paso, Texas. He then transferred to Local 88, Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1994 he transferred back to Local 49. Vince was appointed organizer for the El Paso area in July 2005. He is also the Training coordinator for the El Paso Apprentice School. Vince was elected as trustee in 2001 and elected again by acclamation in June of 2004 and re-elected in June 2007

Abel Billy Martinez

Billy completed his apprenticeship with Local 432 in 1974. Billy was appointed organizer for the Lubbock and Amarillo area in August of 1998 and still serves in that position. In addition to organizing, he is the Training Director for the Lubbock/Amarillo Apprentice School. Billy is the President of the Lubbock Central Labor Council and a member of the Retiree's Assistance Committee. In September of 2003, Billy was appointed Vice-President. He was elected into the position by acclamation in June of 2004.
